Experimental Roast

Current coffees: If you order this coffee, you will either receive Costa Rica La Angostura or Rwanda Kamajumba.

These coffees do not completely fulfill our high quality expectations and are therefore offered at a much lower price.

From time to time, there are batches of roasted coffee, that do not fully correspond with our roast profile and therefore do not fulfill the high standards we set for the coffees in our regular offer. Since the green coffee we roasted are still of the same high quality we always work with, it would be a shame to let those coffees go to waste. Therefore, we temporarily offer these coffees on our website at very cheap prices whenever a roast does not turn out as planned.

There can be a number of different reasons for why the coffee is not up to our standards. It could have been a test roast for some specific purpose. Perhaps we roasted the coffee a few seconds longer than we wanted to, or we did not adjust to the changing weather conditions well enough and the coffee was roasted slower than usual. As there are plenty of factors involved when roasting coffee, we cannot completely avoid that the roast does not turn out the way we want it to.

No matter what the reason was: Even as an Experimental Roast, we only sell coffee of high quality that was purchased through our regular trading partners and roasted recently. There are no differences whatsoever in regards to hygiene and food safety.
