The Lagom Casa by Australian coffee gear manufacturer Option-O is suitable for both filter and espresso brewing. The grind path and the whole grinder design were optimized to help reduce retention – what's commonly referred to as «low retention», making the Lagom Casa suitable for on-demand dosing without the need for purging.
The Lagom Casa is now equipped with the new 65CL burrs. In the industry, conical grinding discs are usually referred to by their outer diameter. While adhering to this naming standard, have a grinding surface similar to common 63mm conical burrs on the market, and offer approximately 1.5 times quicker grinding performance compared to the 48-variant, which were the previous standard of this grinder. During manufacturing, the 65-variant burrs are further machined down to achieve seamless cross-compatibility between 48- and 65-variant burrs within the same grinder housing. The Mizen 65CL burrs are primarily aimed to deliver faster grind times and improved grind characteristics, particularly for espresso.
The Mizen 48MS burrs are still available for separat purchase upon request.
A brushless DC (BLDC) motor can offer up to 3 times the output torque compared to an equivalently-rated AC motor. The Casa is intentionally designed to run at a low RPM, which helps bring out more uniform grind quality with the Mizen burrs.
All critical parts of the grinder are CNC-machined to a tolerance of <10 micron. These parts are all confirmed using industrial CMM (coordinate measuring machine) post-machining – or else they are rejected. No user alignment is necessary. Each unit is thoroughly checked and tested before shipping to ensure its quality. Occasional micro-scratches or cosmetic flaws (not noticeable from a distance of 10cm+) may occur during handling and final quality control.
This grinder is equipped with a 2-pole EU plug (type F) and an adapter for Swiss outlets.
