Introducing the Quema x Drip Roasters Coffee Cup – a collaboration between two small companies with a focus on quality whose story began around the same time in the same neighborhood.

After several years of being neighbors on Bern's Eigerplatz, we finally made it work. After sharing thoughts and ideas, going back and forth, deciding about size, color, glaze and the shape, almost a year had passed. We now use this beautiful pink cup to serve filter coffee at our café. But we didn't want to keep it to ourselves and therefore decided to make them available in our store. This exclusive cup is not exclusively for filter coffee, it's ideal for cappuccino, tea, matcha latte or many other beverages alike.

Enhance your drinking experience with the Quema x Drip Roasters Coffee Cup, an ultra-local collaboration. The specific shape and thin rim were designed to offer the best possible drinking experience and to accentuate the delicate nature of filter coffee and other beverages. The light pink tone subconsciously highlights the perception of fruity and floral notes so often found in our coffees.

About Quema

Quema is a ceramic studio in Bern, Switzerland, founded in 2019 by Ana Suárez. Quema ('ke.ma) in Spanish means fire/burning, which is a key moment in the creation of each ceramic piece. Ana makes each piece carefully by hand and makes simple modern designs that have proven to be useful in everyday life.

Ana was introduced to ceramics during her studies in Visual Arts in Mexico. After her graduation, she took different apprentice/assistant positions in California, Denmark, New York, Peru and Mexico at studios such as Tortus in Copenhagen, Guldagergaard in Skælskør or Ceramica Suro in Guadalajara. Over the years, she has gained expansive knowledge of materials, glazing, throwing, slip casting and more. After a lot of moving around, she has had her studio in Bern for over five years now.
